welcoming a blog with open arms
I am here to both indulge in and address my fear of the internet.
The thing that has stoped me from deleting my social media has been my love for and curiosity about the people I have come to know. My soft rule has been to keep my social media accounts only to those which I have had full conversations with in the last few years, those who really know me, those who share excellent art, and those who I have loved. Oh, and the photos.
Despite all this, I remain convinced that social media will die sometime in the next decade. Sometime soon, we will awaken to the simpler times that predate us - the way we used to be; unperceived, vulnerable, and writing letters to one another (scented and sent). I will not be the first to declare this.
This belief is likely caused by my own want to be free of social media; an aching feeling which I have maintained for many years. As an incrementalist at heart, this is the first step in renouncing ones internet presence. Here I am pre-anticipating the time when social media dies and re-entering the time of the blogger.
My dear friend Sam told me about bear blog. She is an immense source of creative inspiration, like many of my truly delightful loved ones, known for her fabulous outfits, brilliant ideas, and knowledge of all things cool. Thank you, Sam!
I come to the blog to write. Maybe you will come to my blog to read?
For those of you that know me you will see how brave I am being.
If you are interested in things that may cross my mind, feel free to stay awhile. Make yourself comfortable. If you subscribe to my newsletter, then I would know you, and you would be brave too. Then we would both know each other. How very cute of us.
xoxo Anna
